Sutong Bridge is the worlds third largest cable-stayed bridge with a span of 1,088 meters. The bridge crosses the Yangtze River between Nantong and Changshu. The bridge replaced the earlier ferry connection and reduced travel time between Shanghai and Nantong to one hour. Construction of Sutong Bridge started in 2003 and in 2008 opened it for traffic. Next to the bridge is a bridge museum.
