The Osman Gazi Bridge was the world's fourth largest suspension bridge with a span of 1,550 meters when it opened. It crosses the Gulf of Izmit in Turkey. Construction started in 2013 and the bridge opened in 2016. The bridge was designed by Dissing+Weitling, who also designed the Øresund Bridge. The bridge is 2,682 meters long and the towers are 252 meters high.
Osman Gazi Bridge is part of the highway between Istanbul and Izmir. After the bridge opened, the distance was reduced by 140km.
