1915 Çanakkale Bridge is the world's largest suspension bridge with a span of 2023 meters, 32 meters longer than the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge in Japan, which opened in 1998. Çanakkale Bridge crosses the Dardanelles right by the cities of Lapseki and Gelibolui Turkey. The bridge connects the Asian and European continents. Construction started in 2017 and the bridge was opened in 2022 by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. The bridge is 4,608 meters long and the towers are 334 meters high.
