Tyne Bridge crosses the River Tyne between Newcastle and Gateshead. Construction of the bridge began in 1925 and was opened by King George V of Great Britain in 1928. Tyne Bridge was designed by engineering firm Mott, Hay and Anderson and was built by Dorman Long & Co. who later built the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
