The new Svinesund bridge spans the border between Stromstad in Sweden and Halden in Norway. The bridge is an arch bridge where the arch is made of concrete. Svinesund Bridge won betongtavlen 2006. Construction of the bridge began in 2003 and in 2005 opened the bridge. The bridge replaced the old bridge from 1946 and situated next to the summer of 2005. The old Svinesund bridge has been protected.
